Christmas Starfish Wreath

Seas and Greetings!

I saw sea shell wreaths on a local Facebook group page and decided I needed one. Then, I saw more at a local craft fair and got the idea for this berry and starfish wreath.
After a trip to Michael's, the real issue presented itself: deciding how many starfish to actually use. Here's what I settled on:

Wreath $4
Small berries (left over from past projects)
Large Berries $3 (On sale)
7 count Starfish garland $10 (50% coupon)
Floral wire

First, I attached the berries to the wreath with floral wire and their own stems.

Next, I hot glued a wire to the back-center of the largest starfish and attached it between the 2 sizes of berries.

I almost stopped here, but decided I wanted a little more...

I hot glued a smaller starfish directly to the 2 sprigs of big berries and attached them to the wreath.

DONE!

Star Bunting

I wanted to decorate for Memorial Day,  but only got my wreath done for the holiday.

Saw this bunting on PINTEREST and had to try it.  The original tutorial is at overthebigmoon.com

Stars are from MICHAELS (5 pack for $3.99). I cut out old book pages, distressed the edges, hot guled the stars on, and DONE!

So fast and easy.

Happy Easter!

I try to make a new wreath for the front door by Easter. This one made it up the day before. Nothing like a deadline to get some work done, right?

I really wanted to use these glitter eggs, but not sure they really worked how I had them.

I love burlap, and with this wreath I can just change the decor to match the season.

Last year my wreath was tulips.

I did love my burlap rosette wreath.

What's on your front door?

Baseball Season

Creativity has temporarily been interrupted by baseball season. I really love watching my kids play. We practice as much as we can with them at home, and most everything but homework has come to a screeching hault.  But, I'm getting more organized, and I have some fun new vintage style bow ideas coming!

My version of the hospital hat ornament

I fell in love with this idea I saw on Pinterest and wanted to make one. But, found myself in need of more directions than what you see here.  I also ran into a problem with my baby's hospital bracelet. I only have one with his ID number on it. I wanted to show all of his stats in the ornament.

Here's what I came up with:

Cut beanie smaller.

I suggest approx. 5 inches (not 4 in. as pictured)

Print on vellum baby's birth stats.

Fold beanie like a hot dog, slide into ornament.

Slide vellum into ornament.

Adjust with animal print tweezers.

DONE!
